MY STORY

Rooted in This Community

Amanda Lord has called St. Petersburg home for 28 years. She's not a newcomer drawn here by an election cycle — she's a neighbor, a fellow school parent, and someone who has invested decades of her life into this community and its future.

She has two children currently attending Pinellas County public schools. That means she doesn't just talk about what's happening in our classrooms — she lives it every single day. The challenges facing District 6 families are her challenges too.

As PTA President at North Shore Elementary, Amanda led a 31-member PTA through two years of determined, focused work. During her tenure in leadership, the school moved from a C rating to an A rating — for the first time in 14 years. That's not a political talking point. That's a track record.

When families trust the district, students succeed. I've seen that firsthand. And I intend to bring that same focus to the School Board.

- Amanda Lord

Amanda is a Senior Project Manager at one of the world's largest global asset managers, where she has spent 24 years leading large, multi-million dollar strategic programs — managing technology initiatives, acquisitions, regulatory compliance, and operational transformations. She holds her PMP (Project Management Professional) certification and brings real-world discipline to every challenge she takes on.

For 11 years, Amanda served as an adjunct professor at St. Petersburg College, teaching Business Management, Project Management, and International Business. She left that role to dedicate more of herself to PTA leadership — a decision that speaks to her priorities and her character.

Amanda currently serves on the Church Council at Pass-a-Grille Beach Community Church, representing Youth and Families Ministries — supporting programs for elementary, middle school, and high school-aged children in the community she loves.

She has been married for 13 years. Her husband recently completed 20 years of service in the United States Air Force and currently works at Power Design. Their family is deeply rooted in this community, and that is exactly why Amanda is running.

AT HOME

Family First

District 6 map

Behind every decision Amanda makes as a PTA leader, as a project manager, and as a candidate... is a mother who wakes up every morning thinking about the future her children will inherit. That's not a campaign line. It's who she is.

Amanda and her husband have been married for 13 years. He recently completed 20 years of honorable service in the United States Air Force and now works at Power Design. Their family has lived the meaning of commitment and service — and they bring those values to everything they do in this community.

Amanda's two children attend Pinellas County public schools. She doesn't read reports about what's happening in our district — she sees it firsthand as a parent, participates in it as a PTA leader, and feels it as a neighbor. That perspective is exactly what's been missing from our School Board.

I'm not running because it's the next step on a political ladder. I'm running because I care deeply about the future of our students and the strength of our community.
