MY MISSION

Why I'm Running

I'm seeking election to the Pinellas County School Board in District 6 because I believe our children deserve leadership that is focused on them. Like many of you, I've watched the challenges facing our district grow more complex and our focus must be clear.

📚 Academic Excellence

Every student deserves to read on grade level and attain strong math skills. We must set measurable goals, track progress transparently, and hold leadership accountable.

🍎 Support for Teachers

Our teachers are the backbone of our schools. They need competitive compensation, safe classrooms, and fewer bureaucratic burdens so they can do what they do best: teach.

🤝 Parents as Partners

Parents are not obstacles, they are essential partners. As an active PTA member for 7 years, I've seen firsthand how families and schools working together produces results. I will promote curriculum transparency and open dialogue.

💰 Fiscal Responsibility

The School Board manages hundreds of millions of taxpayer dollars. Every dollar must prioritize classroom instruction, student resources, and school safety. Responsible budgeting isn't optional, it's a requirement.

If you elect me, you will get a board member who...

  • Listens to you and your family

  • Comes prepared

  • Puts students first in every decision

  • Shows up! Everytime

  • Asks the tough questions

  • Stays intimately aware of what our schools are doing daily

MEET AMANDA

About Amanda Lord

Amanda Lord is a 28-year resident of St. Petersburg with two children currently attending Pinellas County public schools.

She is a proud graduate of Eckerd College, where she earned her Bachelor of Arts with High Honors, dual majoring in Business Management and Spanish with a minor in International Business. She also holds an MBA with a concentration in International Business from the University of Tampa.

As an active PTA leader, Amanda most recently led a robust 31-member PTA — serving two years as Treasurer and two years as President at North Shore Elementary. During her tenure, the school moved from a C-rated school to an A-rated school for the first time in 14 years.

Amanda currently serves on the Church Council at Pass-a-Grille Beach Community Church, representing the Youth and Families Ministries, supporting programs for elementary, middle school, and high school-aged children.

Employed by one of the largest global asset managers for 24 years, Amanda is a Senior Project Manager working on large, multi-million dollar strategic programs.

She holds her PMP certification and taught as an adjunct professor at St. Petersburg College for 11 years — primarily Business Management, Project Management, and International Business — before stepping away to be more active in the PTA.

Amanda has been married for 13 years. Her husband recently retired from the Air Force after 20 years of service and currently works at Power Design. Their family is deeply rooted in this community, and that's exactly why Amanda is running.
